The method
Most writing programs begin by putting pen to page. Narrative Healing begins with the body.
Our stories live not only in the mind, but in the body. By tending to the nervous system, we create the conditions to listen inwardly, access our creativity, and bring our voices to the page.

“When we learn to listen to the body when it whispers, we don’t have to wait for it to scream to hear what it has to say.”
And as we learn to listen to ourselves with care, we become better able to listen to one another.
Narrative Healing weaves together writing, embodiment, mindfulness, and compassionate presence practiced in community.
The Six-Stage Cycle
Awaken → Listen → Express → Inspire → Connect → Grow
- 01
Awaken
Our stories live not only in the mind, but in the body — speaking through sensation, emotion, breath, and movement. Gentle embodied practices help us notice what has been sleeping or hidden and awaken to what it has to say.
- 02
Listen
Once a story stirs, we learn to pause and listen without judgment or urgency. Mindfulness helps us become present to our inner experience and deepen our connection with ourselves.
- 03
Express
Writing gives our stories language and form. By bringing what we have heard to the page, we begin to discover our authentic voice, make meaning from experience, and write toward healing.
- 04
Inspire
We open ourselves to imagination, intuition, and the creative source that guides us. Inspiration reminds us that we do not have to know exactly where we are going before we begin.
- 05
Connect
When we share our stories with someone we trust, writing becomes a bridge between inner experience and human connection. We practice choice, vulnerability, and compassionate witnessing — learning to trust ourselves and one another.
- 06
Grow
Our stories are part of us, but they do not have to define or confine us. As we integrate what we have lived, we become more open to possibility, joy, and using our voices in service of a more connected world.
